Cyberbullying
Today

Even a one-off message from an anonymous user can count as cyberbullying.

With social media constantly evolving, it’s important to know how prevalent of an issue it’s become. It can also be much more nuanced and complicated than we might initially think.

60% of internet users have been exposed to bullying, abuse or harassment online.

42% of youth have said they’ve experienced cyberbullying on Instagram, 37% have on Facebook, and 31% have on Snapchat.

Youth were found twice as likely to be cyberbullied if they came from household incomes of under $75,000 (22% vs. 11%).

In a global study of 15-year-olds, girls on average faced cyberbullying more than boys (12% vs. 8%).

Why Bully-
Free Foundation

Canada?

Bully-Free Foundation Canada is rooted from our own personal experiences and concerns about bullying.

Reaching out for help can be difficult as each case has its own complexities, and unfortunately, many students feel unsupported in speaking up. We want to help give them a voice.

At BFFC, our goal is to tackle modern bullying, take action, and uncover solutions. We want to create a safe place for youth, giving them the tools to feel accepted, included, and active in our diverse communities.

Bridging the Gap

We know that reading about cyberbullying online and listening to people give presentations can only go so far.

To accommodate different needs of students, BFFC hosts in-person and online events, facilitates forum and community groups, and provides free access to anti-bullying resources.
